Why this exists
Every PLY Evenings-In event happens in someone's home. That makes the host's role genuinely important. Guests trust that the space is safe, welcoming, and run with care. This Code of Conduct sets out the standards every host agrees to uphold before joining the programme.
If something in here gives you pause, please raise it before hosting, not after.
1. Preparation
Before every event, you are expected to:
- Read the Host Guide in full and follow the format you have committed to running
- Have your space set up and ready before the first guest arrives
- Send a welcome message through the event's group chat in the PLY app the evening before or morning of the event
- Have all PLY-provided materials to hand
- Ensure your space is free from hazards and that emergency exits are accessible
Guests have paid and planned their evening around you. Preparation is not optional.
2. During the event
You are responsible for the atmosphere and safety of your home throughout the event. This means:
- Greeting guests warmly and making sure no one is left feeling excluded
- Running the agreed format as described in the Host Guide
- Keeping alcohol moderate. BYOB is permitted. Heavy drinking is not
